‘Butterfly Dreaming’ – PDF Embroidery Pattern (June ’24 Pattern Club)

‘Butterfly Dreaming’ is our pattern for June 2024’s Pattern Club is now available as a standalone PDF.

I’m excited to share with you this design which explores the technique of reverse applique. These three sweet little butterflies are each made with a different backing fabric and while I chose a plain cotton colour for each, feel free to experiment by adding patterned or even textured fabric instead! There are quite a few new techniques in this pattern, so the stitching itself is very beginner friendly. The challenge comes with the layering of fabrics and learning how to carefully cut to expose the hidden layers underneath.
