creative homebodies academy coming 2025!
I am so excited to officially announce the next chapter of Life with Bess is in the works!! When I first started this website in 2017 as a little lifestyle blog, I could have never imagined that 7 years later I would be here. I have been dreaming of creating an online academy ever since I fell in love with teaching embroidery 4 years ago and finally this year (thanks to Jake) I received the push to make it a reality.
The ‘Creative Homebodies Academy’ is coming to Life with Bess in January 2025. Sneak a peek at the new logo below…
what does that mean? an academy?
Good question… An academy is a place of study or training in a specific field. I am working towards creating an online learning platform where you will be able to learn all sorts of cosy crafts that are perfect for the, well, creative homebody!
So this means there will be online courses, mini workshops and more, not just for embroidery BUT other crafts which I love to do in the comfort of my home. These courses will be self paced with video tutorials, access to exclusive patterns and stitch samplers to help you not only improve your crafty skills but also grow your confidence in your own creativity.
what to expect
We have planned out 4 main categories of online courses that will be included in the academy:
- TECHNIQUES: These will be deep dive courses that focus on learning different crafty techniques, for example ribbon embroidery
- SKILLS: These bitesized courses will focus on teaching specific skills within a craft, aka mastering advanced 3D stitches
- PROJECTS: We will also be including some project based courses for example our Festive Stitch Along Hanging Advent Calendar will be a project course in the Academy. These will often be more complex or involved projects where a step by step approach is very helpful.
- PATTERN CLUB: And finally our monthly pattern club subscription will be more apart of the Creative Homebodies Academy and each month’s pattern will be formatted as a mini project course with video tutorials
The Academy will launch in January with 7 online courses!! 6 of these have early access as part of our ‘For the Love of Embroidery Advent Calendar‘. We will have 3 techniques courses, 2 projects and 1 skills course!!! But I can’t reveal what topics yet as they are a secret for the advent calendar.
It is going to be a busy 4 months building and filming our starting courses but I am excited for what is in store for next year!
