Why I Started this Blog

It has been a while since I have felt the passion to take photos. I always used to have my camera or phone out to try and capture little moments that make life beautiful. My Instagram was filled with fun moments and some great photos, but life got busy and before I knew it I wasn’t inspired to take photos. Until I took this photo…

We have a little pond that sits close to the house, so when we are sitting in our living room we can look out onto the little ecosystem. It is home for some fish, a massive bath for birds, a perfect frogs hide-out (even toads) and a hunting ground for some snakes (ergh!). Recently we had a couple of little baby Water Dragon Lizards take up residence. Mum has instilled in me a deep love for animals and day after day we have enjoyed watching them exploring and climbing. We even gave them clever names… these two are called Li and Zard (they did have a sibling Walter aka “Water” but sadly he met an unfortunate end with a snake) There is one little lizard who enjoys the challenge to climb up the stem of the lotus blossom to nest on the bud and I just had to try and catch a photo. Getting out with my camera and telephoto lens to try and capture this little moment, has sparked that little flame of passion for photography again. It has opened my eyes to see that it can be the smallest things that show the beauty of life.

And I guess that is part of the reason why I have started this blog – to start to capture the memories and moments that make life beautiful.
